CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Weather could push back a major construction project on Interstate 380 in Cedar Rapids for the second time.
Friday, workers plan to close the northbound on-ramp to I-380 from Wilson Avenue. But because of possible rain and snow this weekend, the Department of Transportation could delay the work another week.
The DOT said roads need to be dry in order to mark the pavement.
"We need to do those pavement markings in tape. And like most tape, if it's wet, it doesn't stick as well. So we'd like a dry day to put it down," said Cathy Cutler.
The DOT expects the road work to last through September.
The project involves work on the I-380 bridge over 15th and 16th Avenue SW.
