Crews Pull Car from Cedar River

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Crews have pulled a vehicle from the Cedar River two weeks after two kids and their mother were rescued from it.

Cedar Rapids Police, along with Cedar Rapids Fire and the Johnson County Dive Team, recover a vehicle from the Cedar River on Monday, March 26, 2018.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department says the vehicle, a 2006 Buick Lucerne, was pulled from the water near the Mohawk boat ramp at 101 J Avenue NW Monday morning.

Boaters rescued the woman and her two children from the sinking car on March 11. Police are still investigating what caused the car to go into the river in the first place.

The woman remains hospitalized according to Cedar Rapids police.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department was assisted by the Cedar Rapids Fire Department and the Johnson County Dive Team.
