LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- More deputies will be patrolling in Linn County.
It's a follow-up to an I9 investigation last year showing Linn County has spent $5-million in overtime for sheriff's deputies over the past three years.
This morning, the Linn County Supervisors approved a motion to hire six new deputies.
The positions were included in the budget approved last month.
Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner says those six new deputies won't eliminate overtime but should reduce those costs significantly.
