Iowa in the bullseye for snow Monday MAP

DES MOINES, Iowa - A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 PM because snow will make travel difficult at times today. 

Des Moines area:

WHO Channel 13 Meteorologist Jeriann Ritter says snow will start in central Iowa during the late morning and continue through the afternoon. Snow totals will be between 2-4″ with 4-6″ over most of north central Iowa. 

Snow will end by the late evening hours with dry conditions overnight. 

Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area:

Snow is forecast to spread from west to east across eastern Iowa, beginning in the mid to late morning hours on Monday. Accumulations will continue through the afternoon, with totals of 3-6’’ likely across a good portion of the KCRG TV9 viewing area.

With the current forecast timing of this system, the morning commute looks to be fine. However, the evening commute will most likely see impacts on Monday.
