CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- In a news release, Cedar Rapids police said two were injured after a shooting downtown, early Sunday morning.
Officers said it happened just after midnight on Oct. 22, in the 200 block of 3rd Ave Southeast.
“Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of 2nd Ave SE in reference to shots fired,” said Sgt. Daniel Jabens in the release. “Upon arrival Officers located evidence of a shooting in the adjacent alley.“
Jabens said authorities later learned gunfire injuried two, one person went to St. Luke's Hospital and the other to Mercy Hospital, both by private vehicle. Jabens said the wounds were believed to be non-life threatening for each victim.
Police said this is an active investigation.
