Board flies through windshield missing Iowa child by inches

BARTLETT, Iowa - A one-by-four board smashed through a windshield this weekend missing a child by  inches.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office in western Iowa says the driver had a medical condition and ran off the road, smashing through several mailboxes, then left the scene with the board still sticking through the windshield.

According to a report by WOWT TV, the board came through the windshield on the passenger side like a projectile, stopping just inches from the child.

Neither the child nor another child in the car was hurt, the 63-year-old driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of the medical condition.
