Iowa Sets 3-Game Mini-Packs and Promotions

IOWA CITY, Iowa - - Three-game mini-packs for select University of Iowa football games will be available through the UI Athletics ticket office, beginning at 9 a.m. (CT) on Thursday, June 7, and promotional days for home games have been announced.

The mini-packs will be available for $195 and include attending three of the seven home games on the 2018 schedule. Beginning June 7, fans can sign up to receive more information at hawkeyesports.com/FightForIowa.

One of the mini-packs includes the home game vs. defending Big Ten West Division champion Wisconsin (Sept. 22), while the other includes the Sept. 8 Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series contest against Iowa State.

Along with selecting either Wisconsin or Iowa State, a second option includes either the Homecoming game vs. Maryland (Oct. 20), the Nov. 10 meeting with Northwestern, or the Hy-Vee Heroes Game against Nebraska (Nov. 23). The third option includes selecting one of the two remaining games vs. Northern Illinois (Sept. 1), or Northern Iowa (Sept. 15).

UI athletics also announced Monday that all 1,000 Fight For Iowa mobile tickets for the 2018 season have been sold.

“Our goal is to provide multiple ticket package options to meet our fans changing needs,” said Charlie Taylor, UI associate athletics director. “With today’s announcement, mobile pass holders have doubled since last season and the option continues to resonate with a core group of Hawkeye fans.

“As we lanch our very popular mini-packs, fans can select three dates based on their schedule, and guarantee either the Wisconsin or Iowa State game before they sell out. It is great option to guarantee seats at either of these games while getting two additional home dates for one low price.”

The opening game of the season vs. Northern Illinois will be part of Fryfest Weekend and the Gold Game, presented by Iowa Soybean. Fryfest (Aug. 30) will welcome members of Iowa’s 1983 coaching staff back to Iowa City. Fans are encouraged to wear gold attire as Iowa will celebrate the Gold Out for Cancer Research, and Nile Kinnick’s 100th birthday. The National Iowa Varsity Club will also present the 2018 Hall of Fame class. It will also be Spirit Squad Day at halftime with the Hawkeye Marching Band.

The Hawkeyes host Iowa State on Sept. 8 as part of the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series in the annual battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy game. The Hawkeyes possess the Cy-Hawk Trophy as a result of the overtime victory in Ames last season.

Northern Iowa (Sept 15) is the Fight for Iowa Game, presented by the Eastern Iowa Airport. Fans are encouraged to wear Fight for Iowa Gear as part of the celebration of the State of Iowa. It will also be Extra Yard for Teachers Day, as Iowa salutes teachers from around the state.

Iowa’s Big Ten opener against Wisconsin will serve as the annual America Needs Farmers (ANF) game, presented by Iowa Farm Bureau, and the Black and Gold Spirit Game, with fans encouraged to wear either black or gold attire, depending on their seat location. Iowa will attempt to gain possession of the Heartland Trophy.

Homecoming against Maryland (Oct. 20) is being presented by Wellmark, as the Terrapins make their second visit to Kinnick Stadium since joining the Big Ten Conference.

Iowa’s home contest with Northwestern (Nov. 10) is the Family Weekend Military Appreciation Blackout Game, presented by the University of Iowa Community Credit Union (IUCCU). Fans are encouraged to wear black attire as Iowa recognizes members of the military.

The final home game of the season against Nebraska (Nov. 23) is Senior Day as the Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers battle in the Hy-Vee Heroes Game. A Hy-Vee Citizens Hero from each state will be recognized, along with the senior members of the Iowa football program.

Start times for home games vs. Northern Illinois (2:30 p.m.), Iowa State (4 p.m.), Northern Iowa (6:30 p.m.) Maryland (11 a.m.), and Nebraska (11 a.m.) have been announced.
