Results from Tuesday's Special Elections

LINN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- Voters in the Mt. Vernon Community School District have said yes to a nearly $13 million bond.

80 percent of the 1300 voters said yes. The money will pay for renovations at the elementary, middle, and high school buildings.

Voters in Alburnett have approved a school levy and picked city council member.

Voters in the Alburnett School District approved the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy, or PPEL. It'll go up 67 cents for each one thousand dollars of assessed property value.

Voters in Alburnett also chose Josh Henriksen to fill an open city council position. 76 people voted for him. 40 voted for David Wood.

University Heights voters make their pick for city council in a special election Tuesday.

Thhey picked Virginia Miller to fill an open city council spot. She won 148 of the 212 votes to defeat Douglas Swailes.
