Man Rescued from Cedar River

WATERLOO, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- One man was rescued from the Cedar River Monday afternoon after the boat he was in capsized.

Waterloo Fire Rescue was called to the Cedar River, near the Cattle Congress, at about 1:12 pm Monday.

According to a battalion chief, two men were in a boat that began taking on water, eventually causing the boat to capsize.

One of the men made it to shore, the other stayed in the water with the boat.

Crews launched a boat and rescued the second man and recovered the boat.

The battalion chief says one of the men was taken to Allen Hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
