CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG-TV9) -- A mother has filed a lawsuit against the Cedar Rapids Community School District, a principal, and a bus driver. She claims the bus driver slapped her disabled son.
The lawsuit claims the bus driver was using the wheelchair lift to lower her son, who has cerebral palsy, off the bus. That's when the bus driver reportedly slapped the boy who looked like he was going to spit at her.
The bus driver and the principal claimed it was accidental and the bus driver was trying to avoid getting spit on.
The lawsuit also claims the district tried to cover up the incident.
